Residential Housing & Retail
Housing is a key ingredient for River Landing and a range of housing forms is proposed.
Low-rise Waterfront (Parcel BB; 1.7 acres)
Six-eight storey housing is proposed on the waterfront between Avenues A and B. This will likely be a condominium apartment building, with commercial use at street level . There is similar and attractive housing adjacent to the riverfront on the south side of the river. The City plans to offer this parcel for public tender in 2019.
Mid-rise Mixed Use (Parcel D/E; 2.25 acres)
Approximately 25 storey residential/hotel/office/restaurant is proposed between Avenue A, the Senator Sid Buckwold Bridge and 19th Street South to Spadina Crescent. The juxtaposition of the bridge and highway traffic requires that a building have height and density if it is to be successful. The City plans to offer these parcels for public tender in 2017.
